Dreamscheme
Hope for Belper has now run four Dreamscheme projects since 2008. This year’s Dreamscheme saw young people from across Belper regenerating Green Lane Playgroup’s outdoor play facilities and the gardens at Ada Belfield Care Home.
We are extremely grateful for the tremendous help we received from our partners, without whom this project would have been impossible

The Basic Idea
The Basic Idea project was inspired by the credit crunch and the knowledge that many of our neighbours around us were experiencing difficult financial transitions.
The aim was to build up a central supply of foodstuffs and other household items via collection bins in local churches which could then be used to support people in particular need.
Since those beginnings in April 2009, the project has helped more than 150 people in need with emergency food parcels and other vital supplies.
Project volunteers work with a number of referral agencies who make us aware of cases of particular individual and family need.
More information about how the Basic Idea works and how you can get involved can be found here.

Hope Cafe
Hope Cafe was launched as a separate initiative by the Salvation Army but is being supported by Hope for Belper.
It meets monthly from 7-9pm on Sunday evenings in the Salvation Army Hall on Belper Market Place and offers a varied “menu” of music, quizzes, snacks, discussion and a short talk.
More information about Hope Cafe can be found here.
