Food & Community Hub

What is the Food & Community Hub?

The Food and Community Hub offers an opportunity to eat a free meal together, or simply sit and have a tea or coffee and a natter with neighbours. Citizens Advice is on hand to help with queries around benefits, housing, debts and more. Volunteers at the Food and Community Hub provide a listening ear to anyone and everyone. There is also a food bank onsite.

The Next Steps Project provides coaching support if there is a goal you want to achieve and you don’t know where to start.

When is the Hub open?

The Food & Community Hub is open 12pm – 2pm every Tuesday and Friday except Bank Holidays and we are based at the Baptist Church on Bridge Street.

What do we offer at the Food & Community Hub?

  • A warm community meeting space with free lunches and hot/cold drinks.
  • Access to the food bank for emergency food parcels.
  • Access to our Next Steps project – for 1:1 coaching.
  • Citizens Advice drop in during opening hours. (Appointments at other times are bookable too – call on Freephone 0808 278 7954)
  • Monthly craft sessions with Fleet Arts

If you need an emergency food parcel:

Come to the Food and Community Hub and we will provide an initial food parcel. If ongoing help with food is required, we can arrange a referral via Citizens Advice. If necessary, they will issue a referral for further food parcels and can sign post you to further support/offer advice on a range of issues.

How can I find the Hub?

As you head North from the town centre, you will find the Hub inside the Baptist Church on Bridge Street (A6) in Belper, next door to the Devonshire Pub and opposite The Rifleman’s.
